A Book Review Borowed from Instapinch .. About 9/11

I spent 10 years as an Air Force Weapons Controller ("Scope Dope") and in exercises we often practiced SCATANA (ground all the airplanes). I always wondered how it really worked on the day of 9/11.

(Aside, I was in Manhattan on that day. About 3 miles south of the Towers.. with too good of a view of the events..)

One of my favorite Bloggers, even if he is a Naval Aviator, Instapinch, just posted an excellent review of what appears to be an excellent book titled "Touching History". His REVIEW is super.

" It is the story of the skies over America on Sept 11, 2001. Spencer, an airline pilot for ExpressJet Airlines, spent much of the last few years interviewing the principles in this infamous day, from air traffic controllers in Boston and Washington and Indianapolis to military controllers at the Fleet Area Surveillance Facility, Virginia Capes (FASFAC VACAPES,"

A Hat tip to Instapinch and I'm ordering the book from Amazon NOW!

Book Review on Stanta Fe Dead by Stuart Woods

Stuart Woods is a very popular author. His books are automatic sells into libraries and many institutions. Is this book, Santa Fe Dead worth it? Watch the video and you'll know.

videoBy the way, if you're looking for a Great Book for a Great Guy to read... you might try reading "A Glint in Time" .. I wrote it.

Randy Wayne White -- Does a Super Job

Randy Wayne White -- 5 Stars -- Any RWW book is highly recommended -- particularly if you know anything about Florida! The best since -- and perhaps as good as -- John D. MacDonald. (If you don't know who that is, then go get any of John D's books and read it. -- keeping in mind that they were written and set in the 50's and 60's.) If you like boats, water, and mystery, you'll like RWW.

I will say that you'll enjoy the "Doc Ford" series of stories more if you read the books in order. There are plot twists that are easier to follow in sequence. You could go back to "Sanibel Flats", "The Heat Islands", or "Captiva" to start your enjoyment.
